The UNC School of Music and the International Tuba Euphonium Association present the Tuba-Euphonium Conference of the Rockies.


Registration

Conference and Competition registration can be completed via the ITEA website. Register Now.

Conference registration: $20/ $15 before March 1, 2017 (ITEA membership required)
Competition registration: $30 for all solo competitions; $20 for mock auditions


A pianist will be provided for all solo competitors.


 

Competitions
  1. Competitions do not include a preliminary round.
  2. Solo competitors will be provided a conference pianist and 30 minute rehearsal before the competition.
  3. Monetary prizes are as follows:
    • Young Solo Artist competitions: Winner: $100.00; Runner-Up: $50.00
    • Solo Artist Competitions: Winner: $150.00; Runner-Up: $75.00
    • Orchestral or Band Mock Auditions: Winner: $100.00 (no prize for runner-up)
  4. Competition applicants cannot hold or have held a professional position in music.
  5. Registration for competitions is done when registering for the conference.
  6. Competition registration closes on March 6, 2017.

Adam Snider
A primer on performing concert pieces with different types of electronics, including with fixed electronics (tape/CD/audio file), effects (reverb, delay, looping), and interactive electronics. We will cover basic equipment and programs, setup considerations, and basics of audio engineering that will help performers feel comfortable setting up and performing with electronics in a concert setting.

Topics will include understanding student loans, clarifying the jargon surrounding types of loans, loan consolidation, the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, purchasing instruments with financial aid, and identifying resources to help students calculate cost of living and education expenses. This interactive session will emphasize being fiscally responsible while pursuing an education.
